We've seen it. Now we know what to call it!
It seems that no matter where you are, there will be a child bent over a handheld device or transfixed on a computer display or absorbed with a television being driven by a game console. Or, it might be an adult. Regardless, large numbers of people are finding themselves totally absorbed in games, text messaging, internet sites or other techno display material. More and more observers are terming this kind of behavior "screen addiction" and a growing amount of concern is being focused on it. The folks over at Addiction Treatment Magazine have an article about professional efforts to help kids who are victims of this "screen addiction" and are losing social skills because of it. To read it you can use the link at the right of the page or <click here>

That is true Jim,there are too many addictions in this world today.
It's about time that we wake up! Not only does screen addiction cause a lack of social skills but it can mean not enough exercise which could relate to enormous health problems. Where is the day that one played outside, made mud pies, and hide & seek, or rode sleighs in the snow, or played in the rain, etc. It was not only fun, but helped build immunity to many germs.
